New editions of White's acclaimed histories of London. They are breathtaking stories, skilfully told, of the capital's growth over 2 centuries. "London In The 20th Century" won the Wolfson History Prize in 2001. 'A brilliant account of the bursting, overflowing city, with its glittering wealth and harrowing poverty... A work of undoubted academic authority... yet it is also a poetic evocation' "Financial Times"
