Formouse em dietética e nutricionismo na Anne Reijnvaanschool do Wilhelmina Gasthuis de Amsterdão, é diplomado pelo Instituto Superior de Línguas e Intérpretes de Munique (SDI) e licenciado pelo Instituto Superior de Ciências Políticas de Munique. Foi intérprete para organizações internacionais, jornalista e fotógrafo para vários jornais e revistas portugueses e colaborador permanente nas revistas alemãs "P.M. Magazin" e "Eltern" do grupo G+J /Bertelsmann. É investigador sobre História social europeia.
