C. Oliver Kappe is Professor of Organic Chemistry and director of the Doppler Laboratory for Microwave Chemistry at the University of Graz, Austria. He holds a doctoral degree in organic chemistry from the University of Graz, where he became part of the faculty after periods of postdoctoral research work with Curt Wentrup at the University of Queensland (Australia), and with Albert Padwa at Emory University, Atlanta (USA).Doris Dallinger studied chemistry at the University of Graz, Austria and in 2005 obtained a Ph.D. degree in the group of C. Oliver Kappe in microwave chemistry and high-throughput synthesis. She is currently investigating specific microwave effects and scale-up of microwave-assisted reactions.Shaun Murphree is Professor of Chemistry at Allegheny College in Meadville (USA). He received his doctorate in organic chemistry at Emory University in Atlanta with Albert Padwa, followed by post-doctoral study in the laboratory of Peter Jacobi at Wesleyan University. After seven years in research and development at Bayer Corporation, he returned to academia in 1999, becoming a faculty member at Allegheny College.
